Ashenafi Endale: A Better Life

ashenafi

Ashenafi Endale was a school teacher when he emigrated to the United States from Ethiopia for a better life. He started off at a hotel in Colorado as a dishwasher, worked his way up to supervisor and is now a chief steward. He hopes to become an executive steward someday. Ashenafi has a wife and two children. His career in the hotel industry has allowed him to not only buy a home for his family in Colorado, but he was able to buy his sister a house back home.

“I love what I do because I was a teacher in Ethiopia, and I enjoy teaching people. Being a chief steward allows me to train others on many different things. I would recommend starting out in a position like mine where you can learn the foundation of the business before moving up. It will prepare you for what is to come in your life, not just in your job.”
